Seminar: Use of lipid nanoparticles as a vehicle for chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other degenerative disease

Professor Raul Cavalcante Maranhão, University of São Paulo, Brazil: he graduated in Medicine at the University of Brasilia (1973) and completed his Residency in Clinical Medicine and Endocrinology, at the Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (1975) and Doctorate in Sciences (General Physiology) at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo ). He has a postdoctoral degree from the Biophysics Institute, Boston University Medical School (1982-1984) and was a Visiting Professor at the Dept. of Molecular Genetics of that University (1990).

Nanotoxicology – Potential Risks of Engineered Nanomaterial to Human Health and the Environment

This fall, the Institute of Environmental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet, in Stockholm, Sweden, offers a course in Nanotoxicology. 

The course is called Potential Risks of Engineered Nanomaterial to Human Health and the Environment and will be held in September 18-22, 2017. The course is open for PhD students and there is no course fee.

Deadline for applications is: July 28, 2017.

Students should provide a brief description of their research project and motivation for course participation plus a very brief CV.

Arvidsson, Assistant Professor at the department of Energy and Environment at Chalmers University of Technology, is one of the researchers in The Mistra Environmental Nanosafety program. On June 2, Arvidsson will lecture on "Can carbon nanomaterials substitute scarce metals?"
