Towards Nanotech Safety - an environmental conference

A recent conference in Gothenburg gathered more than 50 people from various fields to highlight research about nanoparticles, their effect on the environment, perceptions of the risk of nanoparticles as well as possible future risk managment and regulation of nano materials.

Workshop to characterize nanoparticles

How can one characterize and measure nanoparticles to be able to trace them in nature? At the research station in Kristineberg in Sweden, researchers were gathered to a consortium meeting and to attend a workshop on November 16th. Within the Mistra Environmental Nanosafety program they tried on scanning electron microscopy and laser instruments.

Seminar: Use of lipid nanoparticles as a vehicle for chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases and other degenerative disease

Professor Raul Cavalcante Maranhão, University of São Paulo, Brazil: he graduated in Medicine at the University of Brasilia (1973) and completed his Residency in Clinical Medicine and Endocrinology, at the Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (1975) and Doctorate in Sciences (General Physiology) at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of São Paulo ). He has a postdoctoral degree from the Biophysics Institute, Boston University Medical School (1982-1984) and was a Visiting Professor at the Dept. of Molecular Genetics of that University (1990).
